West Deptford Junior Woman's Club
The West Deptford Junior Woman's Club is a dynamic group of young women working together in our community by enhancing the lives of others through volunteer service. Our members are wives, mothers, career women, homemakers, friends and volunteers. We meet 2nd Wednesday of each month (except for July & August) in the evening at the West Deptford Public Library, to socialize with, share ideas with and to learn from other women with similar and different interest. We are part of the New Jersey State Federation of Women’s Clubs (NJSFWC www.gfwc.org). Our district is comprised of young women, primarily from the West Deptford, Woodbury, Mantua and surrounding areas in Gloucester County, NJ.
Who is a Junior?
A Junior is many things to many people. We are the ones who step up when someone needs help the most. We are the ones who lend a shoulder to cry on, or an ear to listen. We never hesitate to volunteer when someone needs us. From cooking and serving food and Christmas shopping for local families in need to supporting town and school events. We are always trying to find new ways to help out our community and our state. With help from the exceptional women who join, we are an unstoppable group!
Who can join, and what are the duties of a member?
Membership is open to any woman who wants to make a difference in the community and is willing to help our club through volunteering their service, time or their enthusiasm. According to our by-laws, all members are expected to take an active interest and participate in the work of the club. There are no specific requirements to make a certain number of meetings, work at or attend fundraisers, or join any departments. From planning and running to helping out behind the scenes, every little bit helps out to make a small or large project successful.
